When I was invited to see Monster Jam this year, I thought, what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my guys? Don’t forget, my “guys” are 8 and 10 years old, so this really is a great way to spend time with them! They brought along a friend and they had a blast! If you are looking for family friendly mayhem, then this show is for you!
Last year, I took my kids and their friends to the Instigator event at the Advanced Auto Parts in Crafton. The owner/driver, Paul Breaud couldn’t have been better with his fans!
This unique opportunity allowed us to really see just how big these trucks are. It still amazes me that the drivers can make these giant trucks do the things that they do. There were many times that I found myself gasping as I thought the truck was about to tip, but the drivers had complete control.
The much anticipated debut of the Iron Man Monster Jam truck did not disappoint! The crowd went nuts as it drove on to the course. The craziest fan had to be my youngest son, who has always loved Iron Man.
The show itself mostly consisted of competitions between the Monster Trucks. The winner in each competition was given a trophy, which he then gave to an audience member. The drivers also gave t-shirts and other prizes out to the fans. It was great to see the reactions of the lucky winners.
Add in dirt bikes and quads and you have a show that lives up to its name, “as BIG as it gets”!
The music and roaring engines are very loud so you may want to consider bringing ear protection for kids who are more sensitive to sound. If you do not have ear protection, you can purchase earphones at the show.
