2018 New Year's Eve- Last Minute Ideas For Kids

Minute To Win It Style With Macaroni Kid

December 30, 2017

I used to LOVE hanging out with my Mom each New Year's Eve.   Patiently waiting up to bang some pots and pans in celebration!  In memory of the fun times we all shared with our family, we scoured the net for some unique ideas to celebrate New Year's with your family!

We think they're great fun and you can CERTAINLY do this last minute!

Supplies:

BAGS
Get some bags.  Recycle gift bags, use brown bags-- whatever works for you.

CLOCK FACES
Put some clock faces on them and denote times per bag "on the hour" that it can be opened up!  Inside each bag you can put whatever you'd like in celebration of the New  Year.  Here's one that we used.

INSIDE THE BAG:  Put an activity or item to help pass the time.
Some suggestions:

A recipe to make together!
Cookies/ Snack
A journal to write favorite parts of 2017
Coloring Books/ Crayons
Model Magic
Paper to write resolutions on.
A Game To Play Together
Surprise Balls
A Movie

OR do what we did!

MINUTE TO WIN IT GAMES!
Thanks to the Krummert and Bainbridge families in North Hills for this great idea!

The hit television game show Minute To Win It is fun to watch but is even MORE fun to play with your family in person.  It's 100 million laughs!  Why not celebrate New Year's Eve with some super fun activities every hour on the hour!

We made an entire evening of this by creating fun activities to "unveil" every hour on the hour.
Within each are all the household materials needed for some "minute to win it fun!"

Game Ideas:
We modified them a bit to make it easier for little ones!

1.  Noodling Around ( penne pasta and a spaghetti noodle)
Thanks to our cousins Olivia and Samantha for showing Peyton how to do it!

2. Tilt A Cup/  Solo Cup Stack  ( solo cup stack with balls!  We modified this so that the kids don't have to bounce and catch.  )

3.  Paper Dragon ( crepe paper unroll)

4.  Tissue Paper  ( one handed tissue pull)

5.  Cookie Monster ( cookie on your forehead, get it IN your mouth without dropping it)

There are a TON more games available on line on Youtube.  Just google "Minute to Win It Games"  and you can choose those you feel are most family friendly for your little ones!~

The last bag should hold the traditional noisemakers etc--- assuming they can make it that far!

Here are some other games we did together as a family!

On The Hook ( modified)

Stack Attack

It'll be a fun NEW YEAR  OR NOON YEAR anyone you play it!

Whichever the kids can hang with is the perfect time to celebrate the coming of the New Year!
