Kick off the holiday season with two of Pittsburgh’s most beloved traditions.
On Mon., Nov. 25 and Tues., Nov. 26, Phipps and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre are proud to present Poinsettias and Pointe Shoes — a special family-friendly event that will bring the magic of The Nutcracker to Phipps’ historic glasshouse.This annual performance features a sampling of ballet vignettes from Terrence S. Orr’s The Nutcracker, including the beloved "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy," as performed by talented Pre-professional Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School students. Plus, tickets include Conservatory admission, so guests can explore the Conservatory for a sneak peek at some of the colorful poinsettias, glowing evergreens and festive displays of Phipps Holiday Magic, and stop by Café Phipps for wine and refreshments.
Phipps and PBT School will offer multiple performances of Poinsettias and Pointe Shoes:
- Monday, November 25 at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of each performance, which will begin promptly at the stated time. Please plan to arrive early as seating is not assigned and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admission is $38 for adults and $20 for children and includes an exclusive 50% savings on tickets to attend PBT’s full-length performance of The Nutcracker onstage at the Benedum Center December 6-27, 2024. Additionally, Phipps members and PBT Subscribers receive a 10% discount on Poinsettias and Pointe Shoes tickets. The discount code will be sent via email.
