Description

We are studying how parents and children learn about artificial intelligence and fairness. We welcome participation from parents who are 18+ and children that are aged 8-13 years old. We are looking for parents alone or parents with their children together to interview with us. Participants will be asked about their personal opinions and perspectives about artificial intelligence and ethics given prompts about existing and fictional technology. No background in artificial intelligence or technology is needed. No prior experience is necessary. Sessions will be conducted in English. These interviews can take place on Zoom or at the Carnegie Mellon University campus and will be 1 hour long in duration. Interviews will be audio and video recorded. Parent participants will be paid $25 an hour, and children will be paid $10 an hour for their time. Participation is voluntary.
