Daily hours for Winter Flower Show are 9:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. and 5 – 11 p.m. for Winter Light Garden. Phipps will be closed all day Thurs., Nov. 25 and Sat., Dec. 25, and will close at 5 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 24.Description
In addition to all-new indoor displays, the show has been updated with the following exciting new features:
- a Victorian holiday display that transports guests back to the opening of Phipps in December 1893, with oversized topiary ornaments hanging above and an 8-foot decorated tree rotating in a chiming music box;
- a reflective wonderland featuring sparkling onaments, mirrored tree toppers and twinkling silver trees among elegant beds of red, white and green plants;
- a 9-foot-tall holiday tree in the center of an elegant rotunda surrounded by decorated trees floating atop the reflective Victoria pond;
- a fun, nontraditional display with a color scheme inspired by iridescence in nature, featuring trees decorated with ornaments arranged in a gradient of colors from blue to green to yellow to pink;
- a whimsical display featuring topiary reindeer, a holiday tree made up of 50 anthurium plants, an archway composed of wreaths and holiday trees decorated with ornaments created by local middle and high school students through the Fairchild Challenge;
- a grand finale that takes you on a supersized journey through oversized gifts and toys under a canopy of colorful string lights;
- a new addition to Winter Light Garden that transforms the Discovery Garden pavilion into a glowing ice palace;
- and much more.
The new Garden Railroad: Bridges and Tunnels display is on view, too, with miniature recreations of iconic western Pennsylvania scenes and fun, interactive features at every stop, and our Tropical Forest Cuba exhibit will be accentuated with 250 feet of lights — including pink globe lights, illuminated trees and pendant lights — to give off a vibrant glow of its own!
Who
Admission is $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors and students, and $11.95 for children (ages 2 – 18). Members and kids under 2 enter free. All member and nonmember tickets must be reserved in advance, and masks are strongly recommended for all guests and required for unvaccinated guests ages 2 and up.
