A Creative Aunts Twist on Living Analogue: Lets Discover, Together

Meet the aunt whose muses inspired a sharing forward initiative, for the future, at spruce & adorn™

November 19, 2025

Built on many pillars of her creative career portfolio, Jenifer Schweitzer, launched an artist-called-to-action brand spruce & adorn™ (advocating for home decor for your mental health).

In 2018, first launching inside Uptown Sweats by Kiya Tomlin an East Liberty boutique she had designed. But first, Jenifer would launch one girl's graphics a visual communications firm just one month prior to 9/11/2001. In the year to follow she would return to hometown Cincinnati—after living in Pittsburgh to attend art school and begin her visual communications career—having an unexpected stop in retail management and foster a dedicated decor following. Here it would crystalize how her creative career fit in a collective ecosystem of design + community empowerment.

At Pier 1 Imports she watched droves of customers come in seeking design help, highlighting when the economy struggles, disposable income does not exist for entertainment and in-home projects become a priority. Loosing everything she owned in a weather-induced fire, redefining her life purpose, one week later she would discover she was going to be an aunt! It was the exact intervention of light that kept her motivated to get through all the hardship with a new found curiosity for living!

In this column she is excited to reflect on what they have taught her and highlight fresh tips for aunts connecting with their littles through music, food, entertainment and all on a dime. Each entry will include a reflection in her creative entrepreneurial career, a connectivity tip with new music and/or a place to discover!
