The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of AZ Home Details, a new pop-up storefront in 421 Seventh Avenue, made possible through the PDP’s Project Pop-Up program. The public is invited to welcome AZ Home Details to Downtown with a grand opening event and ribbon cutting on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The grand opening event will feature performances by Filipino dancers as well as Filipino appetizers.
Based in Western PA, with roots in the Philippines, AZ Home Details specializes in handmade and sustainable home décor and gifts. Through Project Pop-Up, AZ Home Details is establishing itself as a go-to destination for Downtown workers, residents, and visitors seeking bespoke home goods, furnishing and other artisanal products that celebrate quality craftsmanship from around the world, including wood carvings from India, abaca items from the Philippines, and locally made beeswax and coconut oil candles from PA.
As a Filipino woman-owned small business, AZ Home Details offers an exciting addition to Downtown’s diverse retail community. Founder and Owner Jennie Reyes, who is originally from Daraga, Albay, Philippines, is no stranger to Downtown, having participated as a vendor in the PDP’s Night Markets and World Square over the past two years. “It's my dream to have a store selling beautiful home decor and gifts handcrafted by local and international artisans who are passionate about their craft, quality and design,” Reyes said.
"We're excited to welcome AZ Home Details to Downtown through our Project Pop-Up initiative," said Cate Irvin, Senior Director of Economic Development for the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. "Downtown’s residential population has grown 23 percent since 2019and that growth is expected to continue, creating increased demand for home décor and home goods retailers, and AZ Home Details fills this need perfectly. This initiative is designed to bring unique, small businesses to the neighborhood, and I’m confident AZ Home Details will bring creativity and craftsmanship to our vibrant community."
Brandi Welsch, Sales and Leasing Associate for the property owner, Massaro Properties, LLC, echoed the excitement: “We are thrilled to welcome woman-owned AZ Home Details to 421 Seventh Avenue through collaboration with the Project Pop-up Program. We are encouraged by and supportive of expanding retail offerings downtown, especially small businesses.
