Sky Deck Show at The National Aviary

By Kelly Caruso July 22, 2024

Have you ever watched birds soar, swoop, and glide over you on a Sky deck rooftop? This summer at the National Aviary, they are offering an amazing show presented by Pittsburgh International Airport with superhero birds from all across the world.

My children and I were so excited to see this show! Upon being escorted up to the rooftop, we were given sunglasses for the show. Cathy Schlot and her assistant Jenny were the hosts of the show. We got to witness powerful birds of prey including an Eurasian Eagle Owl, Hooded Vultures, Lanner Falcon, and Black Kites demonstrate their skills from the rooftop deck. It was such a great experience being able to see the birds up close and then fly around the deck, returning to the trainers. Our favorite part of the show was watching the vultures catch meat thrown into the air while flying back and forth around the deck! The show runs daily at Noon and again at 3 pm. The price is $4 for members and $5 for non-members. It is for ages 6+. Make sure to go check it out during your next visit to the National Aviary. For more information, visit www.aviary.org.
