On February 1, 2024, Reading Ready Pittsburgh opened an absolutely, 100% free bookstore for children and their families.
The idea of "B is for Books" is simple: we believe that every child and their family should have easy access to high-quality reading material with as few barriers as possible. Furthermore, the bookstore serves as a resource for educators who need new or additional books for their classroom, a location to provide professional development and parenting workshops, and a destination for storytimes and field trips. Reading Ready Pittsburgh is ecstatic to add to the fabric of the social service and educational resource landscape, and we hope to see the families and kids from our community soon!

All About Reading Ready Pittsburgh
|Reading Ready Pittsburgh is a non-profit organization supporting the healthy development of young children by increasing access to books and by encouraging significant family engagement through reading.
Reading Ready Pittsburgh offers a variety of literacy programs to Pittsburgh's youngest readers (zero to five). Reading Ready Pittsburgh partners with local childcare centers, the AIU Head Start, AIU Early Head Start programs, and other community organizations, to remove some of the barriers families face in having high-quality, age-appropriate books to share in the home and meet families where they are.
