During our BRAND-NEW Friendsgiving Brunch, guests can feast their eyes on the breathtaking view of the Historic Rose Garden and Lake Elizabeth as the leaves change for fall! Savor mouth-watering dishes crafted by Atria’s Specialty Catering including crab-stuffed Atlantic salmon, artisan butternut ravioli, firecracker chicken and waffles, and more, plus enjoy an add-on specialty cocktail such as a prosecco mimosa. Season’s Greetings Saturdays with Santa and a Penguin

Get ready to revel in holiday cheer at the National Aviary for Season’s Greetings Saturdays with Santa and a Penguin! Spend FOUR Saturdays leading up to Christmas visiting the Aviary - take a picture with Santa plus an African Penguin, write a letter to Santa to place in our North Pole-approved mailbox, and create a festive craft to take home!

Holiday Brunch in the Garden Room
Sunday, December 8 and 15 at 11 a.m.

Relish in the flavors of the holiday with a delicious meal curated by Atria’s Specialty Catering. Enjoy fresh fruit and pastries, hot coffee or tea, and a selection of gourmet dishes prepared by Chef Josef Karst. Choose from whole wheat cinnamon French toast with whipped vanilla cream and maple syrup, ham off the bone, and other brunch favorites. Enjoy a refreshing Aperol spritz while taking in the festive lights and décor in the historic Garden Room. After brunch escape from the cold and explore the warm tropical habitats throughout the Aviary, as brunch includes general admission!
Winter Camp

Kids from Pittsburgh and beyond are invited to beat the holiday break boredom with an exciting session of Winter Camp at the National Aviary. Campers will learn how birds survive the winter and discover what makes these avian wonders so extraordinary through guided learning sessions, interactive activities, and up-close Animal Encounters! Plus, learn how they can help backyard birds during the winter, while exploring the National Aviary’s immersive habitats alongside an Aviary expert!

The National Aviary will be closed most Tuesdays through December 19. We are open on the Tuesday of Thanksgiving and during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The National Aviary will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
The Aviary will close at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
