5 Top Fun Things to do With Kids This Week in the City

Enjoy new and fun experiences all in the city this week!

Every week Macaroni Kid Pittsburgh City shares things to do with your kids in the 'Burgh over the coming weekend. 

So grab the kids and head out to our local neighborhoods: Braddock, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, East Liberty, Friendship, Garfield, Highland Park, Homewood, Morningside, Northside, Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Edgewood, Swissvale, Downtown, Hill District, Wilkinsburg, Braddock, Forest Hills, Strip District, Bloomfield, Friendship, and Shadyside for family fun this weekend!

Here are MacaroniKID Pittsburgh City's picks for the five things to do in the City of Pittsburgh with kids from September 30th to October 6th,  2023. Click on the links for all the details!

1.   Paw Patrol. Paw Patrol be There on the Double

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is having its big opening day in theaters ONLY on September 29th. 1st show of the day at participating theaters, where child ticket holders will get a Micro Toy and parents will gain access to a free 60-day trial of NOGGIN with ticket purchase. (While supplies last. At participating theaters only.) These superpower pups take on a magical meteor that has crashed into Adventure City. While Skye develops a dream come true-superpower, things turn to the worst when their arch-rival Humdinger is able to break out of jail to team up with a meteor-obsessed mad scientist. These two evil villains want to steal all superpowers to be able to turn into the biggest supervillains that the pups have ever seen! Be a part of the pups'  super adventure as the fate of Adventure Land is in their paws and yours. Catch those adventurous pups in AMC Waterfront. The show times are, 12:45 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:10 p.m., 6:36 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. 



2.  Kick back and Throw that Reel 

On Wednesday, October 4th, Tri-Anglers are having a FREE Lunchtime Fishing program in downtown Pittsburgh. They catch a variety of different species of fish and release them along the Allegheny River. To come out and fish, there is no need to have fishing experience prior, and is a great activity for all ages! All fishing gear is provided. This includes rods/reels, bait, tackle, nets, and safety equipment. Don’t forget to bring your curiosity about those aquatic vertebrates, plenty of water, and your sunblock.



3.  Tailgate on the Lawn | Steelers vs. Texans

You know what time it is?! Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. Football is back so grab that Terrible Towel and come watch the Steelers take on the Texans on the big screen. Enjoy $3 IC Lights, $5 Steelers Margherita and Mules, and all the gameday snacks that you could think of. Enjoy football-themed lawn games and toys, popcorn, face painting, a 360 Photo Booth, and more. Come out to this FREE event and watch the Steelers do their thing. 



4.  RAD Days

Silver Eye Center for Photography, “In dreams, I walk with you” is the feature of photography that is inspired by so many recognized art teachers. Hannah Altman, Nakeya Brown, Hernease Davis, Dylan Hauthor, Laura Larson, and Patricia Voulgaris. It also includes the work of 25 artists as well. It celebrates the power of connection and community during the more transformative and uncertain times.

5.  Party On the Mount

Time to have some fun and let loose at the Party on the Mount. This free family event on Mt. Washington is made to draw people in to see the beauty of the city. Expect to hear amazing music and participate in family-friendly activities, local food trucks, craft wines, and a wide variety of beers.
