⚠️ Traffic Alert: OpenStreetsPGH - Sunday, May 28, 2023

Thousands of bicyclists, pedestrians, and more will take to Pittsburgh’s streets this Sunday, May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for OpenStreetsPGH presented by UPMC Health Plan. Produced by Bike Pittsburgh, this free community event opens nearly 4 miles of car-free streets across the North Shore, Downtown and the South Side for people to bike, walk, roll, and play. This month’s OpenStreetsPGH is the first of three events celebrating active transportation and people-centered places in the city of Pittsburgh.

Car traffic will be prohibited on a 4-mile stretch: N Shore Dr, E General Robinson, 7th St (Andy Warhol) Bridge, Forbes Ave, from Market Square to the Armstrong Tunnel, the Tenth Street Bridge, and East Carson St from S 10th St to S 21st St.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Streets will begin closing Sunday at 8 a.m. The following streets will be impacted:

  • Casino Dr & N Shore Dr
  • W General Robinson St
  • Sandusky St
  • 7th St (Andy Warhol) Bridge
  • Forbes Ave from Market Square to the Armstrong Tunnel
  • Graeme St & Market St at Market Square
  • Armstrong Tunnel (both directions)
  • 10th St Bridge
  • S 10th St from the Bridge up to East Carson St
  • E Carson St from S 10th St to S 21st St

TRAFFIC CROSSINGS: Unlike other events, OpenStreetsPGH does not require a complete street closure. Car drivers may cross the route at the following open intersections:

  • Ft Duquesne Blvd & 7th St
  • Liberty Ave & Fifth Ave
  • Wood St & Forbes Ave
  • Grant St & Forbes Ave
  • Sixth Ave / Crosstown Blvd & Forbes Ave
  • 2nd Ave & 10th St Bridge
  • Bingham St & S 10th St
  • S 18th St & E Carson St

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

There is no parking allowed along the event route from 3am-3pm on Sunday, May 28th. All parked cars will be towed. “No Parking” signs will be placed along the route starting on Wednesday, May 24th.
