Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is excited to announce that its annual summer camp offerings open for registration on Wednesday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m.
Children aged four to 13 can have enriching experiences at weekly camps exploring a wide range of fun subjects such as art, making, storytelling, nature, metalworking, game design, coding, sewing, introduction to tools, cosplay and more.
“We are excited to offer summer camps that align with our mission of inspiring joy, creativity, curiosity and kindness,” says Danielle Linzer, the Museum’s Senior Director of Education, Research and Learning. “Campers get to spend their time on the nation’s largest cultural campus for kids, where they can play with real stuff, explore art and STEM, and enjoy hands-on learning with our amazing staff.”
Summer camps will take place June 10 through August 16, with a week-long break from June 29 through July 7. The camps cover a wide range of topics and parents are encouraged to register for multiple weeks to take advantage of everything the museum has to offer.
Developmentally appropriate camps are offered for four different age groups rising into the following grades:
- PreK – Kindergarten (ages 4-5)
- Grades 1 – 3 (ages 6-8)
- Grades 4 – 5 (ages 9-10)
- Grades 6 – 8 (ages 11-13)
A limited number of summer camp scholarships will be available for families who receive SNAP benefits and metalworking camp scholarships are available for Pittsburgh Public School students through the generous support of Arconic Foundation. In addition, Museum members are granted early access to registration on February 19 and will receive 10% off camp rates.
Camp spots are limited and fill up quickly, so early registration is encouraged. For detailed camp information, pricing and more, visit pittsburghkids.org/summer-camps/.
