Youth Rowing Summer Camps at Three Rivers Rowing Association

Have fun on Pittsburgh’s Allegheny River under the supervision of a certified coach.

April 2, 2026

Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA) on Washington’s Landing offers week-long Youth Rowing Camps throughout the summer, with several weeks to choose from.

Camp Details:

  • Safety launches equipped with flotation devices and first aid kits accompany the coach and rower on the water
  • Open to 4th-12th graders
  • Small group lessons
  • Beginner to Advanced (by skill level)

Rowing, even from a young age, promotes physical fitness, balance, carefulness, awareness, and ecology (there are some amazing wildlife and land features to learn about around rivers!)

As an added bonus, high school rowing promotes academic performance and can open doors to generous college scholarship opportunities.

TRRA is also dedicated to serving our Adaptive/Para community. With a full fleet of adaptive boats and equipment, Para-athletes are welcome to join the team with equity and open arms.

Fun Fact: Rowing has been a part of Pittsburgh’s history for over a century (it’s a little-known fact that Pittsburgh hosted the first-ever women’s rowing race in the U.S. in 1876, won by Lottie McAlice, a Pittsburgh girl of 16!).

To learn more, please give us a call at 412-287-TRRA (3445) or check out our website at www.threeriversrowing.org. See you out on the water!

Note: We strive to remove financial barriers to rowing. We encourage those who think they will qualify to fill out our Financial Support Request Form.

Three Rivers Rowing Association is a 501-c3 non-profit organization located on Washington’s Landing near the Strip District and as part of the Millvale Riverfront Park along the Heritage River Trail. We welcome you to schedule a time to tour any of our facilities.
