Our 5 Day Summer Camps focus on teaching our students through performance, not teaching our students to perform. Both the Rock 101 and Performance Camps will focus on teaching music concepts, theory, and skills needed to learn and perform different songs which the students will demonstrate at their performance at the end of the week. The School of Rock experience is like no other, we make connections to understanding music while teaching you to rock, learning music has never been more fun. No experience is required for participation in either camp.

SOUTH HILLS/CASTLE SHANNON - SCHOOL OF ROCK!
We're excited to bring you the new Summer Camp line-up at the South Hills/Castle Shannon - School of Rock! Any young rockers out there who want to tackle some awesome rock hits? If so, the Rock 101 camp is just for you! Learn the basics of some of the biggest names in rock, such as the White Stripes, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and more! This camp is perfect for beginner kids ages 7-10 who are ready to start their musical journey. They even get to play a live show at the end of the week at a real venue! Don't believe it? Come and see it happen. The kids will also play musical games, experiment with multiple instruments and learn musical concepts in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
Our next camp is sure to be a hit when we cover some awesome Green Day classics! The Performance camps are much like our performance program, only shrunk down to a one week time span. Musicians ages 10-17 will learn how to perform several songs from the hit punk band Green Day by the week's end. Campers in this group will experience a real live show on the final day as well!

Starting off, we have the Rock 101 - British Invasion camp. Meant for the beginner musician, children 7-10 will learn how to play various notable rock songs from bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Who and more. They will also perform them by the end of the week at a real venue! This is an awesome way to get beginner rockers on stage within a week! The kids will also play musical games, experiment with multiple instruments and learn musical concepts in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Last but not least, we have our Performance Camp, which will bust out some awesome 2000's Rock hits. The Performance camps are much like our performance program, only shrunk down to a one week time span. Intermediate musicians ages 10-17 will learn how to perform several songs from bands such as Seether, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park and more by week's end. You'll get tips on performing, music theory and stage presence that you'll be pressed to find anywhere else in the Burgh! We'll also have some crafts and games to pass the time. Break out those shades and get ready to rock!
