This CAN BE MESSY so beware of clothing and surroundings!
Keep a hose handy! Use protective eyewear as you see fit.
Get a large flat sheet.
Hang your sheet up on a clothes line. 
Fill your water guns with a watered down acrylic paint. 
I simply filled their water guns up half way with water from the hose and then SQUEEZED a good glob of paint into the gun. Shook it well and let them go to town.
Let the kids HAVE AT IT. 
It's SUPER COOL!
Let the sheet dry. Wash in cold separate of other items. 
Now you have a great picnic or beach blanket memory!
