Carnegie Science Center: Summer Science Camps Sizzle With Fun

Various Themes Appeal to Wide Range of Interests

March 4, 2014
Carnegie Science Center summer camps, running June 2 – Aug. 22, offer hands-on, engaging science experiences for children ages 4 -14. Choose from a wide array of topics to fit each child’s interests – and kids will have so much fun they won’t even realize how much science they’re learning.

The summer kicks off with the popular Science Fun Days, offered June 2 – 6 for children ages 4-5 (half day) and ages 6-12 (full day). Campers will play in the exhibits, see a live theater show or laser show, participate in a 1-hour science themed workshop, plus see an Omnimax movie. Kids can attend for one day or make a week of it. Science Fun Days cost just $40 per day for members of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and $45 for non-members, for the full day; half days cost $22 for members and $25 for non-members. Science Fun Days return Aug. 18 -- 22.

Week-long themed camps begin the week of June 9 and continue through the week of Aug. 15. Kids can discover the binary brilliance of robots, explore the universe, or uncover the science of video games. Little Einsteins will love specially programed half-day adventures and older kids will enjoy a full-day science experience. Prices vary by age group and subject matter, and there is a discount for members of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. Full-day camps run from 9 am to 3 pm, and pre- and post-care is available at an additional charge.
