Macaroni Snowflakes and Trees, oh my!

As Seen on KDKA!

December 10, 2013
This one is very young kid friendly  since it doesn't involve a hot glue gun!

You will need:

*Wagon wheel pasta, we chose 2 sizes
*Craft glue like Aileen's
*A paint brush
*Spray paint
*Glitter
*Ribbon for embellishment

Arrange your pasta in any shape you think looks snowy!

Brush on the glue around the sides of the pasta.

Touch the sides together and let it set!

Next you can spray paint them any color you like...except yellow....don't do yellow snow please.  No one wants to be that mom.

This took several coats for us since we didn't want to do heavy layers.  The trick is to move it around a lot while it is drying so it won't stick to your paper.

After it is completely dry, water down some of your glue (we did about half glue and half water) and brush it onto the snowflakes lightly.  Then sprinkle on the glitter and let it dry.

Attach a ribbon for the hanger.

We also did a modified versions and shaped a tree then painted it gold and ran through some thin ribbon.  Stringing through the ribbon was easy enough for a child to do. Once these things dry they are very durable!

And there you have it!  Home made ornaments that will have your guests amazed at your creativity...and leaving them hungry for some pasta!
