Vacation time is upon us and soon enough the kids will have cabin fever no matter how many great toys they got this holiday! The best cure for cabin fever is FAMILY TIME! We devised some simple family time buckets that determine what the special family activity is for the day during vacation! Whether you do one or all of them they are sure to make some memories and that's what's important! We presented our "family nights" in a bucket but you can present it anyway you'd like!
HOLIDAY LIGHTS
Bucket Idea:
String of holiday lights around the outside, blankets, cookies and 'to go' mugs, scavenger hunt list! Bring the dogs for a ride too!
Holiday Lights Night Pack up the car and go and see the holiday lights!
Don't have a display nearby? Just drive the neighborhoods!

FAMILY PHOTO NIGHT
Bucket Idea: Scavenger Hunt Pages, photo albums, trophies, vhs tapes, magnifying glass and more!
This is a way to make looking through family photos more fun! Everything is better with a little competition so make a list of things to find in the family photos and even get some dollar store trophies for the first person to 1)find someone giving bunny ears 2) an object still in the house 3) a baby picture of yourself 4) someone you don't know.
Bucket Idea:
Dog Treat Bones, shovel, garbage bags

walkway, pick up trash around your neighborhood or you stay at home making simple dog beds for the animal shelter. Spend time with a purpose!
Bucket Idea: Marshmallows, toothpicks, pictures of marshmallow structures, cups, balloons, tape for targets
Test your team building abilities by having some fun with marshmallows! Work together to build marshmallow shooters and targets! Then have a blast seeing who has the best aim! Use toothpicks and marshmallows to build towering creations. If you aren't comfortable with having marshmallows all over your floor, small pom-poms work well too! We found the inspiration for our Marshmallow shooters here!
Dig into science for a fun night! This fun book and easy to gather materials make this for a fun and exciting evening or two! This book is a free down loadable resource that will give you a shopping supply list and easy to follow instructions. Be sure to get some safety goggles!! I am actually giving this exact bucket I made to my son for Christmas! Keep in mind, this is a family activity and not something you give them and let them go out on their own and experiment!
KIDS RULE NIGHT
