Share your home with an Exchange Student

CIEE, an international student exchange program, is currently looking for a few more families to host a high school exchange student for the 2014-2015 school year. Students are scheduled to arrive in the next couple of weeks, stay for the school year, and attend the local school district of the host family. Students come with their own insurance, spending money, and English skills. Below are three of our available students. Host Families:

   Are all types of families (kids, no kids, empty nesters, etc)

   Accept a student into their home as a “son or daughter” for one or two semesters

   Provide a bed and room (student can share a room with a host sibling of the same gender within 4 years age difference)

   Share 3 meals a day (if students choose to purchase school lunches it is their responsibility)

   Receive local and regional support 24/7 for any needs (we have a 24 hour emergency hotline)

   Claim a $50 per month deduction on their federal income taxes  

 

Students:

   Are aged 15 to 18 (Grades 10-12)

   Are well screened

   Speak English

   Have their own spending money

   Have full coverage health insurance

 

Girl. Lisa is a 16 year old girl from GERMANY. My name is Lisa and I'm 16 years old. I would like to do an exchange year because I love the sound of American English and I would like to improve mine. And the schools, culture, religion the people, the views landscapes etc. are so exciting and new for me and so I would like to do an exchange year. Boy. Dominik is a 16 year old boy from SLOVAKIA. I hope we will have nice time there together. I really love pets every kind. I love laughing and even more when it is with my friends or family. I do lots of sports like judo, swimming, running. Also if you would like I can teach you some Slovak traditions, learn you some Slovak words or cook something. Has one older brother. Girl. Meritxell is a 15 year old girl from SPAIN. I'm cheerful and quite active, but also shy with new people only until I know them better. I'm the youngest, which makes me more independent and responsible. I have learned to be educated and sincere. I’m very collaborative and whenever I can, I try to help outside and inside home. I’m very nice and I think that I have no problems communicating with people. I’m very sporty and I am quite good at team sports. My favorites are: swimming, soccer, and jogging. I love animals, at home we have had a variety of animals, and my favorite is the dog. I volunteer at the animal shelter where I have learned to take care of pets. I like to go out with friends and to spend time with family. I like watching TV, going to the movies, or doing excursions. I've traveled all around the world, and visited almost all continents with my family. I have learned a lot about the cultures of the different countries.
