If your child is not within the range of measurements listed above, please still come to the model search! In a true American Girl spirit, we try to be as accommodating as possible so all girls can join in the fun!
MODEL INFORMATION
- The model fee is $30. (A portion of fee will be used for administrative cost; remainder will be used to support Junior League of Pittsburgh’s initiative to educate and empower children.)
- Payment is due within two (2) weeks after receiving notice of selection. Notices will be sent out October 1st.
- Clothing is provided in sizes 6x and 10. See the above American Girl Size Chart for measurements.
- Model application must include a current close-up and full-length photograph of the child. Please write the child’s name and the parent/guardian’s contact information on the back of the pictures. (Photographs will not be returned.)
- Selected models will be assigned to one of five show groups: November 14 at 11:00am, 2:30pm or 6:00pm. November 15 at 1:00pm or 4:00pm
- Models must be available for Orientation/Fittings & the Dress Rehearsal (see below).
- Models must be able to be away from their parent(s)/guardian(s) for three hours (one hour before the show and two hours during the performance) and feel comfortable walking a runway in front of 200+ people.
- Models may be required to supply footwear and accessories depending on the costume.
- American Girl dolls are diverse; therefore, we encourage girls of all races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- In order to see the show in which their child appears, the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are required to purchase show tickets.
- Updates for models will be provided on the Junior League of Pittsburgh website at www.jlpgh.org
DRESS REHEARSAL:
Dress Rehearsal will be held at the Pittsburgh Field Club on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Additional details & arrival time will be provided shortly.
Rehearsals will take approximately two hours so dress comfortably. Please feel free to bring homework & a snack.
ORIENTATION & FITTING:
Models must be available to attend one of the below fittings. Fittings will be held at the Junior League of Pittsburgh Headquarters located at 33 Terminal Way, Suite 531A, Pittsburgh 15219.
October 21 from 4:30pm-8:00pm
October 22 from 4:30pm-8:00pm
GUEST MODELS:
Guest Models are girls who would like to participate in the event, but are not one of the models in the show. For an additional $25 donation, Guest Models and their dolls get to take their turn on the catwalk wearing their own outfits. Each Guest Model will be introduced and take her turn on the runway during intermission & will wear an outfit of their own. Girls must be in grades 1-6 in order to participate.
If you are interested in Guest Modeling, purchase a Guest Model Fee when you purchase your tickets so that your American Girl is reserved a Guest Model spot.

PHOTOGRAPHY
There is no photography during the show; however, each model will have her picture taken by a professional photographer at the dress rehearsal and at the shows.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will have the opportunity to purchase said photographs and should bring cash or checks to the rehearsal.
Payment is DUE at the time of photography.
DOLL HAIR SALON:
We are excited to announce that stylists from SuperCuts will once again be running our doll hair salon! Add some glam to your Fashion Show Experience by visiting the American Girl Doll Hair Salon! The talented stylists from SuperCuts will create a fun and fancy 'do for your doll's hair. It's a unique experience that is sure to delight your American Girl.
Sign-up will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We will have a sign-up sheet at your designated show. Don't miss out of this opportunity!
